Sara

This was fun, but a bit challenging! We started with a black and white and made her into something pretty, or what she was trying to tell me as I did the art. I think I got what I wanted.

DAd

My Dad as a child, he looks a little dressed up.. his b-day was on Sept. 20th, he would of been 91 yrs. old.

necklace Polymer Clay beads

I bought these beads from Stony Creek Bead Shop, I made something I can use more often, but I still have the beautiful pendant to make another necklace.

Seed Beading

This bracelet has been sitting for a couple of years, and I finally picked it up and I am determined to finish it, I really like it, took some time. I like to bead when I can it is relaxing, but need the time.
I guess you would call a free motion pattern.

Knitting Mittens

Knitting mittens- cable in the pattern .. it is not as hard as I thought. It looks nice so far.. the thumb can be difficult.

I have also been working on a seahorse that is knitted and then felted, I am almost to the head part and then ready to add fins. That is picking up stitches which is when I often make a mistake. I have uses many scraps of wools with many different colors. This is my work in progress before felting.

It has been way too long and decided to get some art done. I am in the PID charm swap so I am finishing them up. I love making charms, they are small , but you can use so many things,
an old earring, bottle caps, and I have some little odds and ends to add.
I am working on some altered people, well on one so far. I made butterfly wings, added an image, and used batting for her mermaid body. I love color, and watercolors can be lots of fun to create backgrounds. I will post a couple of pictures in a bit.

HMMMMMMM

Well I am a bit or quite a bit sad today, a major change will occur soon with 3 great kids, 2 nieces and nephew moving out of state. I am just the aunt, but still care about them and hope things will work out as well as it looks on paper. So I have been beading and have made a few things, which helps when I am going through things. It could be beading, art, or even knitting. So I post a few pics of the funky bracelet I made and necklace.

Fat Book Swap

I am also working on a FAT Book Swap with the theme being Vintage Valentine, and using a technique for the background that no one else is using. When done we will get pages of beautiful techniques with instructions for the backgrounds. I have picked the background of working with cloth and color, which has turned into melted crayon or wax- (do not use your microwave for melting) I learned this the hard way. I then poured randomly on the fabric- the wax dries very quickly so I then ironed the fabric with a sheet over it to protect the iron. I like how it came out along with a little distressing and texturing. Here is my first page, and one with only texturing- they will all come out a little different.

Red Pink and a dash of Green

I am working on a couple of things so I thought I would try and update. I have an ATC of Avery for a swap called Red, Pink and a dash of Green.

New Year

I have been trying to get my crafts somewhat organized I know it will take time to get an actual system. I have been reading from the web site organizedstudio@yahoogroups.com , it has great ideas. I like beading, quilting, and art and it can get overwhelming sometimes. So that is a goal for this New Year!

I made a couple of pieces of art for the PID group one is titled "Be", and the other is art using recycled materials, both were fun.! I am way behind on a quilt I was working on in a class called "Quilting through America", it is a beautiful quilt and many time periods with quilting are in the quilt. So I thought if I posted regularly about this and posted a finished block, it may give me incentive to finish. SO any words of encouragement are welcome.
